Haley Wilson

Graduate Student

Haley joined the plasma physics PhD program in Fall 2021. She received her bachelors in Physics and in Applied Math from the University of Montana. In her free time she can be found playing board games, rock climbing, finding new food to try, and scouring the internet for cheap Broadway tickets. Feel free to contact her about life in NYC or the Columbia plasma physics program at [email protected]

Advisor: Carlos Paz-Soldan
Research Focus: In her research at the University of Montana, she optimized coil designs for quasihelically symmetric stellarators in collaboration with UW-Madison. More recently, she has been interested in researching tokamak power balance while taking into account recent advancements in HTS magnet technology. She is currently studying highly radiative reactor scenarios with negative triangularity and seeded impurities.
