Kalen Richardson

Undergraduate Student

Kalen is a second year undergraduate student at Columbia pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in applied physics. Aside from fusion engineering, Kalen enjoys producing music, hiking, and hand balancing.

Research Focus: Kalen is currently helping design the superconducting coil structure and supporting systems for the quasi-symmetric stellarator, which will replace the CNT (Columbia Non-Neutral Torus), under graduate student Mel Russo, with guidance from Professor Paz-Soldan and Professor Paul.
